Today's homework for class was to make a make a card using a new or old technique. 

I saw THIS card by Alice Wertz

I was inspired to do the spotlight technique by making my bg like she did and spotlighting one image. 

Of course I chose the cute Matryoshka doll. I collect them.  

I colored her simply with Copics then embossed here with the CB Houndstooth Embossing Folder. 

I used the Paper Smooches set FOLKal POINTS

Today we were to make a one layer card.

Here's the back of the card. I used the card back signature included in my set and just made the color image smaller. Really finishes off the card. 

Since I adhered my ribbon ends to the inside of the front of my card I used copy paper for my liner on the inside of my card.  I used the same color image just washed it out so it can be written on.

PUPPY LOVE CHALKBOARD

Yesterday was day one and this is my homework.  I've been wanting to try this awesome  CHALKBOARD TECHNIQUE since Joan had it for the TLC challenge last month on SCS. I am loving this class.  I am learning great tips, techniques and meeting friends.  Its not too late to sign up. Come join the fun. 

I used two stamp sets on my card:

SANTA PAWS from Paper Smooches

TALK TO ME from The Alley Way Stamps

I used Washi Tape on the top of my card (two layers)

then stamped with my EK Success border punch.  For the Chalkboard effect I used SU White craft ink pad, White Top Boss Embossing Powder and My Tim Holtz Blender Tool to sponge over the embossed image to give that wiped chalkboard look.

CAS205 BEAUTIFUL BUTTERFLIES

This is for two challenges today. 

First, CAS-UAL FRIDAYS CFC87: MAKE YOUR MARK (to use markers)

Second, CLEAN AND SIMPLE CHALLENGE #205 on Splitcoaststampers

We were to choose a card from mamaxsix's Gallery.

I chose THIS card to case. 

My Changes:

Used Embossing Folder for my background

Stamped my four butterflies off the right edge and colored with Copics. 

Embellished with crystal gem stickers

Rounded my corners

I used a discontinued stamp

from Clear Dollar Stamps called BEAUTIFUL BUTTERFLIES.  It is my favorite butterfly stamp.  I just love coloring these beauties.

CAS204 COOL BEANS

I have been itching to use my new stamp from

Isn't she just the cutest! The minute I saw her....it was love.  

So when I saw the sketch for today's 

CAS204 Challenge on Splitcoaststampers

I knew I had to ink her up

There was a challenge on SCS a few days ago and I did not get time to play....it was to use CORK.  So when I saw the sketch this came to mind.  I used two spellbinders die with one inside the other and cut out my frame.  I stamped my sentiment onto the cork using Onyx Versafine Ink.  My circles are cut in half and popped up with dimensional tape.  The cool silver pearls are from the $1.50 spot at Michaels.  They have caught my eye each time I saw them and last night I snatched them up and had fun using them on this card. 

In just inked her up using Rose Bud by Memento for the inside.

NEW DIGI RELEASE

NEW DIGIS RELEASE TODAY AT CLEARLY DIGI STAMPS (CLEAR DOLLAR STAMPS)

I'll be sharing with you samples I made using my two newest digis

You can see all the stamps being released today on the CDS BLOG.

Above, on the front of my card I just colored her skin and paper pieced the rest. I used new paper and washi tape I got in my stocking.......The Sweetest Thing Tangerine Line by My Minds Eye. Love this new line!

For the inside I just changed the color of an outside image and placed it in a fun way with a sentiment and a bit of washi tape at the bottom. I love how washi tape looks on the white paper.

I wanted to make a wrap for a little box of candy hearts and decided to try the latch technique.
I love it.  This is it closed.  You can find my tutorial to make this HERE.

Here you see the latch.
The top frame is adhered with dimensional tape 1/16" thick only on the top half.  The smaller white circle is adhered to the front with dimensional tape also but only on the bottom half of the circle.

Here it is open.

 I used two glue dots on the inside of the top and bottom of the wrap adhered to the box.
