Charlie's going digital

Today is a digital release day dedicated all to Charlie Horse. Today is the release of Charlie Digital Stamps. You can see the full reveal on the Clear Dollar Stamps Blog.

My first card is using the new digital image

CHARLIE HORSE

I printed Charlie and the sentiment directly to my card base. I printed out extra Charlies and cut out, sponged and adhered for dimension.

For the fence I used the faux wood technique using reds. Then I embossed using the CB Distress Stripes Embossing folder.

RECIPE:
STAMPS:Charlie Horse Digi (Clear Dollar Stamps)
PAPER:Cottonball White, Worn Parchment, Strawberry Jam (Clear Dollar Stamps)
INK:Printer, Tim Holtz Distress Ink Vintage Photo, Whisper White (SU), Palette Ink Pads: Pucker Up, Cherry Go Round, Red Velvet Cake (Clear Dollar Stamps)
ACCESSORIES:Cuttlebug, CB Houndstooth Embossing Folder, Dimensional Tape, Tim Holtz Blender Tool
TECHNIQUES:Faux wood, dry embossing, paper tole, sponging, digital

My second card uses the new digital image

CHARLIE FENCED IN

I enlarge the image to the full size of my 5" card in Microsoft Publisher. Then I printed it onto my card base. I then printed it again onto my papers and cut out in layers. I dry embossed the worn parchment layer for my fence. This is pretty easy and is flat too.

RECIPE:
STAMPS:Charlie Fenced In Digital Image (Clear Dollar Stamps)
PAPER:Cottonball White, Worn Parchment (Clear Dollar Stamps), Everyday Flair (My Minds Eye)
INK:Printer
ACCESSORIES:Cuttlebug, CB Distressed Stripes Embossing Folder, Printer, Computer

I paper pieced my cupcake and embossed the top with the HOUNDSTOOTH Cuttlebug Embossing Folder. I used my paper crimper for the bottom of my cupcake. Popped them both up with dimensional tape using a second layer on the top of the cupcake so it overlapped the bottom.

I finished it off with a button and sewing.

STAMPS:Hey Cupcake (The Alley Way Stamps)
PAPER:Cottonball White, Hot Cocoa (Clear Dollar Stamps), Summer Days (Echo Park)
INK:Memento Rich Cocoa, Cherry Go Round (Clear Dollar Stamps)

Forever in my garden

I have exciting news. I am an official CAS DT member for THE OUTLAWS challenge site.
This week's challenge is to use....A SPLASH OF RED on your CAS creation.
Come join us.

My sentiment is from the set PANSY from CLEAR DOLLAR STAMPS.

For my flowers I punched a flower border from my green paper. Then I made little flowers to put over the border flowers for a more dimensional look. The flowers I made are from a $1 punch at Michaels that I bought recently. It is in a bin with other tiny punches and with stamps too.

Each flower uses three tiny punch flowers. I folded them around the larger end of my embossing too. A crochet hook works too. For the first layer I folded then unfolded the flower. The second is folded tighter and the last flower is folded the tightest. I adhered with liquid glue with a strong hold. These flowers can be made in advance to have on hand and speed up the card making process.

RECIPE:
STAMPS:Pansy (Clear Dollar Stamps)
PAPER:Worn Parchment, Cottonball White, Fresh Papaya, Strawberry Jam, Kiwi Delight (Clear Dollar Stamps)
INK:Memento Tuxedo Black
ACCESSORIES:Martha Stewart flower border punch, mini flower punch (Michaels $1), dimensional tape, Spellbinders Picot circles, Cuttlebug, Embossing Tool

You can view the full reveal of all the new digis (and there are A LOT) on the CLEAR DOLLAR STAMPS BLOG.

For My First Sample I am using the new digi EGG AND BASKET BY LAURIE WILSON.

Miss You Much

I was thinking of my Marine son as I was making this. He deployed five days ago to Afghanistan. I am thankful for prayer....I can do that.

See more Design Team Creations using The Alley Way Stamps on TAWS Blog.

I used the following sets on this fun card:

BACKGROUND BASICS

I masked off a 1/2" border all around on my 5 x 5 card base using post-it notes. I used rainbow colors to ink up my Chevron bg stamp from this set. For example first I inked the bottom of my chevron using orange then inked the top of the stamp using red, huffed on it and stamped. I repeated using colors of the rainbow. I outlined it using an Ultra Fine black sharpie pen and ruler.

JIBBER JABBER

I combined the three sentiments "Miss", "You" and "Much" from this set for my sentiment. I laid them out face down on scrap paper the way I wanted them. Then I pressed my acrylic block to pick them up. I stamped them on scrap paper to make sure they stamped the way I wanted. Then stamped on my card. I love how they line up just right inside my background row.

PRICELESS JOY

Lastly I stamped two birds from this set on my card. Then I stamped them 6 times on white paper. I colored them, cut them out in parts, sponged the edges and popped them up for the finishing touch.

RECIPE:
STAMPS:Jibber Jabber, Background Basics, Priceless Joy (The Alley Way Stamps)
PAPER:Cottonball White (Clear Dollar Stamps)
INK:Memento Tuxedo Black, Tim Holtz Distress Ink Walnut Stain, Palette Ink Pads Cherry Go Round, Tangelo Smoothie, Fresh Papaya, Lime Juice, Turquoise Gem and Wild Huckleberry (Clear Dollar Stamps), Copics Y17, BG05
ACCESSORIES:Dimensional Tape, Post-It Notes, Tim Holtz Blender Tool
TECHNIQUE:Paper Tole, Masking

Distressed Butterfly

You are looking at a distressed butterfly. He is not in distress though. Hee. I just had to play in today's Technique Lover's Challenge.

Today's Challenge is to use the WRINKLE FREE DISTRESS TECHNIQUE.

Judy said to make a background...guess I did not listen. I thought it would be fun to just do it on my little butterfly. I cut out my butterfly using my BOLD BUTTERFLIES DIE SET from CLEAR DOLLAR STAMPS.

Then I stamped my die cut using the BEAUTIFUL BUTTERFLIES stamp set. Next I did the wrinkle free distress technique using Tim Holtz Distress Inks Worn Lipstick, Broken China and Dusty Concord. After that I applied clear embossing powder after stamping with a VersaMark pad and used my heating tool. I repeated this four times til I got the shine I wanted. Then I embossed it in my Cuttlebug using CB Houndstooth embossing folder. Voila.

RECIPE:
STAMPS:Beautiful Butterflies (Clear Dollar Stamps)
PAPER:Cottonball White (Clear Dollar Stamps)
INK:Memento Tuxedo Black, Tim Holtz Distress Inks Broken China, Worn Lipstick, Dusty Concord, VersaMark
ACCESSORIES:Heat Tool, Cuttlebug, CB Houndstooth embossing folder, Clear Embossing Powder, Dimensional Tape, Mister, Bold Butterflies Die Set (Clear Dollar Stamps)

Hoppy Day

These cute hopping frogs are for this week's CLEAN AND SIMPLE CHALLENGE #157. It is a sketch challenge based on a card by Nancy Littrell.

I used the stamp set HOPPY FROGS from CLEAR DOLLAR STAMPS.

My card is 4 1/4 x 4 1/4. I figured out a little embossing trick. My base yellow is 4 1/4 and when I ran it through my embossing folder I had a thin line that was not embossed on both sides. So I ran it through again only putting in a small area on the side...did this on both sides. Now you can't even tell...can you?

RECIPE:
STAMPS:Hoppy Frogs (Clear Dollar Stamps)
PAPER:Fresh Papaya, Night Eclipse, Cottonball White (Clear Dollar Stamps)
INK:Certainly Celery (SU), Fresh Papaya (Clear Dollar Stamps), Memento Tuxedo Black
ACCESSORIES:Googley Eyes, Cuttlebug, CB Tiny Bubbles Embossing Folder
TECHNIQUES:Dry Embossing, CAS

Luke 12:34 Hearts

This week's Clean And Simple Challenge on Splitcoaststampers is HEARTS.

I just love Basic Grey's dp collection Picadilly. I punched out the hearts from it.

My stamp is LUKE 12:34 from CLEAR DOLLAR STAMPS.

My card is 5 x 5. I scored a border with my Scor-Pal 1/2" all around. To line up my hearts I drew a 3 x 3 grid of 9 squares lightly in pencil. I stamped my sentiment first in the middle left two squares. Then I adhered one white cs heart in all the other squares then erased the pencil lines. I added two more white squares to each square then added the dp hearts to top them off. So the dimension is just from layering the hearts...no dimensionals. Easy Peazy!

RECIPE:
STAMPS:Luke 12:34 (Clear Dollar Stamps)
PAPER:Cottonball White (Clear Dollar Stamps), Picadilly (Basic Grey)
INK:Memento Tuxedo Black (from Clear Dollar Stamps)
ACCESSORIES:Scor-Pal, Triple Heart Punch (SU)
TECHNIQUES: Scoring, Paper Piecing, Punch, CAS
