Car Congrats

This is the perfect card for teenager that just got their license. I was having fun here. Making me slanted road, stitching the road lines and making my own text dp for the bg.

You can find more inspiration on THE ALLEY WAY STAMPS BLOG.

I used the following stamp sets:

JIBBER JABBER

I made my background by combining the five words. I placed them side by side the way I wanted on scrap paper then pressed my acrylic block to them to pick them up. I tried them on scrap paper first to see if I liked it. Then I just stamped my whole background alternating the positing at each row.

The car I stamped three times. The first I cut out the whole car. Second I cut out the whole car and the windows. Third just the tires. I colored, sponged, added brads for the tires and put dimensional glaze over the whole thing then popped up.

RECIPE:
STAMPS:Priceless Joy, Jibber Jabber (The Alley Way Stamps)
PAPER:Cottonball White, Night Eclipse (Clear Dollar Stamps)
INK:Memento Tuxedo Black, Copics C-5, B00, Blender, YG23
ACCESSORIES:DMC Pearl Cotton 5, Tapestry needle 20, paper piercer and mat (We R Memory keepers), Dimensional glaze, mini brad, Large round corner punch

MISS YOU BUTTERFLY

My golly....We were out of power for 55 hours. I am so happy to have my puter back. Two days without my computer....ack....I was going crazy! Hee. We had snow, wind, ice and power outtages here. It is definitely winter.

This is my last week as Guest Designer for the CAS challenge on THE OUTLAWS CHALLENGE SITE. What a fun site. If you have not checked it out you should. You upload your project for the appropriate challenge to a thread. It is very personal. Everyone comments on the thread. Fun place. And always prizes.

This week's CAS challenge on The Outlaws Challenge Site is to use something NEW. So I am using my NEW THE ALLEY WAY STAMPS and my NEW crystal stickers from Doodlebug Designs.

The butterfly is from PRICELESS JOY and the sentiment is from JIBBER JABBER both from THE ALLEY WAY STAMPS.

This is the first time I tried this technique of using a die to cut from the bottom of my card only. So one side of the die is on the bottom of my card the other side is under my card. Then I pulled it through my Cuttlebug from the other side and only enough to cut the bottom then I brought it back the same way. Then I repeated with the embossing process. I used the same die set but a smaller size for my white panel.

RECIPE:
STAMPS:Priceless Joy, Jibber Jabber (The Alley Way Stamps)
PAPER:Berry Blast, Cottonball White (Clear Dollar Stamps)
INK:Memento Tuxedo Black, Copics YG23, YR04, RV14, B05

See that strip of Designer Paper at the bottom of my card? That is in this digi. Yes...colored images, outline images, sentiments and digi papers. Its all in this digi. How cool is that! I just love CDS digis. Such a value. (I'm not just saying that as a DT member).

I made my card in Microsoft Illustrator by opening up text boxes. I love using text boxes. I printed out my card...all it had was the digi paper strip and sentiment. I used a border punch and punched out the bottom. Then added a strip of black paper behind it on the inside of the card.

CAS CHALLENGE

This week's challenge is to use BAKER'S TWINE.
I was inspired by the current issue of Paper Craft's Magazine.
In there...there's a feature on french knots. So I decided to play with them.

I traced my heart onto my panel with pencil. Then poked my holes 1/4" apart with my paper piercer. I erased my lines and made my french knots. I used a size 20 Tapestry needle, threaded my Divine Twine with a green plastic threader and wrapped my thread around three times to make each knot. A little timely but easy!

My sentiment in the middle is from the set JIBBER JABBER from THE ALLEY WAY STAMPS. I used Whisper White Craft ink pad from Stampin Up and White Top Boss Embossing Powder.

RECIPE:
STAMPS:Jibber Jabber (The Alley Way Stamps)
PAPER:Cottonball White, Strawberry Jam (Clear Dollar Stamps)
INK:Whisper White (Stampin' Up)
ACCESSORIES:Divine Twine, paper piercer and piercing mat (We R Memory Keepers), 20 Tapestry needle, Needle threader, Anti-static pouch, Top Boss White Embossing powder, Heat Tool, Score Tape, Scotch dimensional tape
TECHNIQUES:French knots, Heat Embossing
