NEW SVG RELEASES

Today is SVG RELEASE DAY at CLEAR DOLLAR STAMPS.
Check out the new releases on the CDS BLOG.

I made this sample using the new LANTERN SVG/PDF designed by our very own Stacy Morgan.

I used the SVG file with my SURE CUTS A LOT program and CRICUT EXPRESSION. I adhered vellum to the inside and then placed a battery operated votive inside. It really is a lantern. I love how it turned out. It works great as a lantern.

The adorable trees I used to decorate my lantern are a new digi PAPER TREES by Trudy Sjolander.

RECIPE:
Stamps/Images: Paper Trees Color Digi (Clear Dollar Stamps)
Cardstock/Papers:Cottonball White, Worn Parchment (Clear Dollar Stamps), Vellum Cardstock

Ornamental

Today's CLEAN AND SIMPLE CHALLENGE #145 is a theme challenge...CHRISTMAS/WINTER.

I went with Christmas and used a new release ANTIQUE ORNAMENTS from CLEAR DOLLAR STAMPS.

This is a 5x5 card with a Spellbinders Circle Label cut out of the center (second from the largest). I cut it out BEFORE I folded it. That frame is made using the largest and second largest Spellbinders Circle Labels.

The ornament I stamped four times, colored each one, cut them out, sponged edges and folded in half long ways. Then I glued the sides to each other.

I punched out the top circle with a 1/8" hole punch. Then I used five small jump rings to hang it. I punch a 1/16" hole at the top so it would be covered by the frame (the frame is adhered with dimensional tape....leave a small gap where the jump ring hangs at the top).

RECIPE:
STAMPS:Antique Ornaments (Clear Dollar Stamps)
PAPER:Cottonball White (Clear Dollar Stamps)
INK:Memento Tuxedo Black, Tim Holtz Distress Ink Walnut Stain, Copics RV14 Berry Blast , YG23 Kiwi Delight, YR04 Orange Whip (from Clear Dollar Stamps)
ACCESSORIES:Spellbinders Circle Labels, Cuttlebug, Tim Holtz Blender Tool, Jump Rings (from Clear Dollar Stamps), Scotch dimensional tape

FLAKES FROM HEAVEN

I played in one of the VSN Mini Challenges today. I just could not resist the challenge A MARSHMALLOW WORLD.

The challenge was to make an all white card with no more than 25% color. And you had to have some bling...sparkle. My bit of sparkle is a strip of glitter on the top of my torn snow panel and crystal stickers on my snowflakes. I absolutely love this stamp JUMBO SNOWMAN from STAMPENDOUS. You can shape him the way you want to get different snowman shapes. Love that. This was one of the first stamps I ever got.

My sentiment is from this cute set SEASON'S TWEETINGS from CLEAR DOLLAR STAMPS.

I stamped the nose a second time and colored, cut out, sponged the edges and popped up. That is my color although I know black is a color with my outline and sentiment. It is an easy card. It took me 25 minutes. A record for me.

RECIPE:
STAMPS:Season's Tweetings (Clear Dollar Stamps), Jumbo Snowman (Stampendous)
PAPER:Cottonball White (Clear Dollar Stamps)
INK:Memento Tuxedo Black, Tim Holtz Distress Ink Walnut Stain, Copic YR04
ACCESSORIES:Scotch dimensional tape, Glitter, Crystal stickers

YOU ARE A LIFESAVER

My sweet friend Katie Renz is especially struggling lately with pain and nausea. She has been so strong through her battle. I admire her. I feel sad that her life will be cut short from seeing her children grow up and grow old with her husband. I cannot do anything about it and I feel sad. I love you Katie Kate and am so happy I know you. Biggest Hug EVER.

Doesn't seem quite right that Katie is in pain and I am making cards. But that is how it is. I am thankful for my blessings. Katie is one of them.

So......today's CLEAN AND SIMPLE CHALLENGE is Taylor's sketch.

I flipped the sketch horizontal. I have such nice friends. Lately I have been bugging a couple of them with my questions of things they know. They have been so kind with their time and patience. I have been thinking what life savers they have been and when I saw this sketch....this idea is what came to mind.

For those of you that are not from the US and don't know what a lifesaver is....this card may make no sense. It is a play on words. Lifesavers are hard candies shaped liked the image in the center of my card.

I put words in the corners instead of images and put an image in the center instead of words. I arranged my words in Microsoft Publisher. It took some time to get it just right. I made my lifesaver using Spellbinder Circle dies.

RECIPE:
STAMPS:None. Computer generated sentiment using Papyrus font in Microsoft Publisher
PAPER:Cottonball White, Berry Blast, Night Eclipse (Clear Dollar Stamps), Summer Days (Echo Park)
INK:Printer, Tim Holtz Distress Ink Walnut Stain
ACCESSORIES:Spellbinders circle labels, Cuttlebug, Tim Holtz Blender tool, score tape (from clear dollar stamps), Scotch dimensional tape, paper piercer and mat (We R Memory Keepers), Needle, Thread
TECHNIQUES:Stitching, Digital

Thankful Bird

This card is for my Mom. Yesterday was a sad day. My Mom had to unexpectedly put her green cheek conure named Harley to sleep. Harley was such a sweet bird...he could sure give you a good bite but his high pitched chirps were so cute. My mom nick named him Tea kettle.

So I searched DOODLE PANTRY for one of Laurie's cute cute bird images. And this seemed just right. One of the things my mom said tonight is that they are thankful for the time they shared with him. This cute image is called PUMPKIN BIRDIE.
