For the Color Combination challenge, I participated in event number five. I used all five olympic colors and neutrals white and black. I even added a splash of silver.

For Mothermark's Teapot Challenge, we are heading to Silverton, Colorado to Project X. We are bring some color to Abner, the abominabal snowman's, world. He is sick of White. Notice my white background looks like snowballs. I thought he might feel more at home with that. Hee. Coming Abner.

Technique Lovers Challenge #261

I just had to play in today's Technique Lover's Challenge and see what I could make with my punches. For some wonderful ideas check out Meredith's display charts.

I got the inspiration from Meredith's tree. Then I added a couple more scallop pieces for dimension. So, I punched out two scallops one from a darker green dp and one from a lighter green dp. The darker one is left whole and is the base. The second one I punched out two small pieces that look like clouds by feeding the scallop back into the punch. I then sponged around the edges.

For the trunk, I just cut out my own shape. I used dimensionals to give the tree dimension. For the apples, I punched 1/8" circles from red paper, glued them on, then added dimensional glaze. This was fun.

For my sentiments, I used this wonderful set WORDS OF GRATITUDE from CLEAR DOLLAR STAMPS.

RECIPE:
Stamps:
Words of Gratitude (Clear Dollar Stamps)
Paper: Neenah Solar White (from Clear Dollar Stamps), Black (DCWV), Summer Travel pad (K&Company)
Ink: Basic Black, Tempting Turquoise, Pink Passion, Only Orange, Close To Cocoa, Certainly Celery (Stampin Up)

Another jovialjudi CASE

I just had to case another one of Judi's (jovialjudi) cards for today's Featured Stamper Challenge.
I cased this card of Judi's.
Changes I made:
Used two white rectangles in place of nestability
Put brads next to sentiment on front panel
Added black border punch matte
Used Glitter DP for bg instead of white CS
Used different inks yet similar colors for images
I used two new releases DREAM BIG and BITTY BOTANICALS from CLEAR DOLLAR STAMPS.
I used the same technique Judi did on her card. I inked up my botanical image in Crushed Curry then thumped (dotted) with Bold Bright Stampin Up Markers then huffed on it and stamped the image. I just loved trying this technique. I never did this before with markers. I love the color. Thank you Judi. Great idea. I had to try out this new border punch I bought yesterday. I like it. And new paper too. I usually don't use glitter paper but I could not pass up this new glitter book by My Mind's Eye from Michaels.
RECIPE:
CDS STAMPS USED:Dream Big, Bitty Botanicals
CS/PAPERS:Neenah Solar White (from Clear Dollar Stamps), Black (DCWV), Glitter Book of paper (My Mind's Eye)
INK:Momento Tuxedo Black (from Clear Dollar Stamps), Crushed Curry (Stampin Up), Tim Holtz Distress Ink Vintage Photo
MARKERS: Bold Brights (Stampin Up)
ACCENTS/TOOLS:Border Punch (EK Success from Joanns), Medium Brads (Ass Making Memories from Michaels), Tim Holtz Blending Tool
TECHNIQUES: Thumping with markers

When I went over with the Crushed Curry it just blended it all together nicely. Then I dabbed off the extra ink from the embossed images with a tissue.

RECIPE:

Product Focus Review NATURE'S BEAUTY

I have been waiting a long time to tell you that I am on the 2010 PRODUCT FOCUS REVIEW TEAM for Splitcoaststampers. We have been divided into two teams. Team one did the review for January and team two (I am on this one) just reviewed Creative Stamping's Kit of the Month Club's NATURE'S BEAUTY kit. You can read the reviews and view the gallery here. Below are the cards I made using this fun and filly kit.

This is my version of one of the cards you can make from the kit.

I used supplies from the kit to make this card of my own design plus using stickles, black ink, scallop corner punch and handstitching

Again, I used supplies from the kit and designed my own card plus used, black DS, Ribbon, Spellbinders Fleur De Lis Pendant, Black Ink, Chalks, Sponge, Distress Ink

For my last sample I used just a stamp from the kit (this absolutely gorgeous rose, I am so happy to have the stamps from this set to use over and over after the paper is gone from the kit) this card is an example of using the stamps after the paper is used up and integrating it into my other supplies. I used the SU scallop trim border RAK, black ink, Melon Mambo CS, Basic Grey gem stickers, Aqua pen, Ink pads to watercolor with, CB eb folder (this card was made using Laurie aka HamiltonGal's card for FS158)

SKETCH CHALLENGE #267

I have been battling one little cold, flu bug etc after another lately, brrrr--UH-ther!!!

When I saw today's sketch I just had to play. By the time I had energy to it was late in the evening. Still I love how the challenges get me to come up with something new. These cups came to mind when I saw the sketch. I love this set it is so fun and I can do soooooooooooo much with it. The set is a new release CIRCLE SOMETHINGS from CLEAR DOLLAR STAMPS.

The sentiment is computer generated. I used Mistral font in publisher then stamped the cups between. The spacing was being stubborn and left a bigger space at the bottom. So I added pierced steam to the cup. Funny how little mistakes can be blessings. Hee.

This greenery should compliment Bodacious' decorationg. Also they put off oxygen and everybody needs oxygen. Also, shhhhhh.....I hid catnip within the ferns too.
