Billy Under The Apple Tree

I saw an idea for an envelope with an apple tree like this in PaperCrafts May/June 2009 Issue, that was my inspiration for this card.

WHAT I DID: My card is a regular A2 card. I used this so cute new release BILLY AND MAGGIE FALL FUN designed by Wendy Hall for CLEAR DOLLAR STAMPS. I embossed all the bg parts with cuttle bug embossing folders. For the tree and trunk, I made my own templates and cut out. I glued the buttons on with dimensional glaze. Billy and his dog I stamped twice on watercolor paper, colored with Tombo markers using an aqua pen and cut out whole Billy whole dog plus Billy's hat, scarf and legs and the dog's head. I sponged all the edges with Vintage Photo Distress Ink. The rest of the papers were also sponged with vintage photo after being sponged with the same color ink first. I adhered the green ribbon that looked like ric rack to the back of the bottom panel for grass. Worked great. Billy, I cut away from his log to have him sitting at the base of the tree.

Thank you for visiting me today.

RECIPE;
ALL CDSTAMPS STAMP SETS USED:Billy and Maggie Fall Fun

Sketch Challenge #252

Front:Above

Inside:Above
Using Martha Stewart's New Happy Birthday Deep Edge Border Punch

It has been awhile since I have participated in Roxie's Sketch Challenge, so I was happy to have been able to participate in this one. When I first saw the sketch, I thought "What am I gonna do with that?" The more I thought about it, I knew what I was going to do. I made this card for my eldest son's 20th birthday. Hard to believe his is going to be 20. Yikes.

What I did: First I used this awesome new release ROCK ON from CLEAR DOLLAR STAMPS. My son's favorite color is green, so I started there and the rest fell into place. My card is 5" square. I felt a square card worked better proportionally with Roxie's sketch. I stamped the drum set onto a 3" square of white CS and colored it with Bic Mark-It markers. These are my Copic Substitutes until I get the Copic Sets. Then I stamped it again on another white CS and cut out only the three drums with the yellow on them and put micro brads in the drum brackets and masked the ROCK ON sentiment so I could stack it inside the circle on the big drum. It worked beautifully. I loved the results. It just needed something, so I used my blending tool and sponged Tim Holtz Dimensional Ink Vintage photo on the edges. Then I popped it up with dimensionals and finished it with dimensional glaze. IRL it shines nicely.

I made my panels and sponged them too with the Vintage Photo. I just love this new Martha Stewart Happy Birthday Punch. It is called a DEEP EDGE border punch. It works great. I visited Michaels today and just HAD TO have it. I am sure my DH will understand. I am using all my will power not to go back and buy all the others. Oh my goodness. Help!

The Photo corner is a new Martha Stewart Corner punch too. it is so cool. It is punch and scored at the same time. You pull it apart from your paper, fold the edges back and tape in place. So cool. It stands off the paper by 1/16". Awesome. I love you Martha

Thank you for visiting me today.

The colors are:
Chocolate Chip
Lime Green

Clear Dollar Stamps Weekend Color Challenge #41

Happy Friday! The start of the weekend. Is it just me or is time going fast? My... Well, Friday means it is Clear Dollar Stamps Weekend Color Challenge over at Paper Craft Planet. So get out your Clear Dollar Stamps and come join me, I will be your hostess this weekend. Yay.

This weekend in honor of October being National Cancer Awareness Month I chose THINK PINK as our theme.
Challenge Colors:
Pinks (any or all shades of pink THINK PINK)
Neutrals: White, Vanilla, Black, Gray (use any or all)

I chose to use stamp set ASTER-SEPTEMBER FLOWER OF THE MONTH from CLEAR DOLLAR STAMPS.

WHAT I DID: My card base is 4 3/4 square. My fold is at the top. I started with using my corner punch on all corners than placing my pink panel in the Cuttle bug to emboss. Next I cut out my white panel 3 1/4 square and stamped the asters on it. I also stamped the asters on another of the same paper and colored them with the Pixie Pink SU Marker and accented with white gel pen. I matted with black that I used a brand spankin' new Martha Stewart Border punch I found this week. It is soooooooooo cool. Some butterflies are cut out (and you can use the butterflies like I did on the card ) and others are partially cut so you can pop them up by pulling the weeks forward (does not show up great in this photo). I cut out my asters and adhered the top three directly to the panel and popped up the bottom one with dimensionals and placed a rhinestone sticker in the middle. Lastly I punched my bottom corners of the white and black and used dew drops at the bottome of the white panel that I glued on with dimensional glaze. I hand stiched around my black panel.

Thank you so much for Visiting me today!

Welcome Betty. I am so glad you played this weekend. I just love your coloring and background on the main nestability. Looks great. I adore those brads for your silver, perfect accent. I absolutely love that you stamped your sentiment on your twill ribbon.
Betty's tip: When stamping on ribbon leave the stamp on for a minute to let the ink soak in.

You Rock Gift Tag

Good Sunday evening! I hope you all have had a restful weekend. The Seattle Seahawks won today, that is a good thing. Hee. I enjoyed hostessing the Clear Dollar Stamps Weekend Color Challenge.

My teenage son had a birthday party to go to for a friend of his that is a girl. So I made this gift tag that he put on his gift. They are friends from school and teenagers, so I kept that in mind when I designed it.

This Rockin new release was perfect: ROCK ON from CLEAR DOLLAR STAMPS.

WHAT I DID: I made my tag 2 1/2 x 4 1/2 from a cardboard piece that was at the back of a stack of paper I purchased. This is about half the thickness of chipboard, but made a nice tag. I cut off the corners and rounded the bottom ones with a large corner rounder. I cut my paper the same and stiched only the top edges then adhered. Second, I cut my rulered DP from the bottom of the diagonals of my tag to the bottom. I punched the top with the EK success border punch. I hand stitched two rows just below the border. I then stamped first my guitar on the right that I new I was going to put a paper pieced one and pop up, so I positioned it where I wanted it then stamped around it trying to create a doodle look on notebook paper. I adhered it and stamped and cut out my guitar form DP and popped up with dimensionals then accented with stickles. I punched out one of the circles from the polka dot dP with a 1" circle punch, I love how it left a little edge around it. I stamped my sentiment on it. I just love the look of this sentiment. Then I positioned it over a polka dot and adhered. I filed all edges with a nail file and finished off with an eyelet and ribbon.

Thank You for visiting me today!

RECIPE:
ALL CDSTAMPS STAMP SETS USED:Rock On
CARDSTOCK AND PAPERS:Summer Travel Paper Pad (K&Company), Just chillin (Making Memories), Chipboard

Clear Dollar Stamps Weekend Color Challenge #39

Shawne is our lovely hostess this weekend for Clear Dollar Stamps Weekend Color Challenge #39 at Paper Craft Planet.

Shawne's colors are:
Green Galore
Orchid Opulence
Only Orange
Neutral: White

I chose to accept this challenge using this beautiful new release CARNATION-JANUARY FLOWER OF THE MONTH from CLEAR DOLLAR STAMPS.

WHAT I DID: I used the Marvy Scallop Corner punch for all my corners. I just love this look. I cased Dawn's (TreasureOiler) card which was a case of Heather's (tankgrl) card. For the squares, I stamped the text from this stamp set and sponged the white edges with green galore. For the main image, I stamped the carnation image on the white then stamped it two times more on separate paper. I colored in the leaves with green and outlined the flowers with purple on the main image panel. On the other carnations I colored the carnations and cut them out then cut out the portions to put on top. I popped them up on the card. For the ribbon I decided to cut the ends in a v shape and place a brad at the base. For the finishing touch, I dotted the matted black edges with a white gel pen.

RECIPE:

Ways To Use It Challenge #238

Yay! I now can play with my October New Release Stamp Sets from CLEAR DOLLAR STAMPS.

I played in today's Ways To Use It Challenge "Say it With Pizazz" on Splitcoaststampers.

I chose to use this new release CHRISTMAS SCRIPTURES from CLEAR DOLLAR STAMPS.

I am extra happy because I am having to rest with this bad cold or I cough. So this is something I got done today and before I take my new heavy duty cough syrup my doctor called in because the other one she gave me yesterday did not cut it. I am waiting for my DH to bring it home for me. Poor guy has been running all over doing my errands. He even bought me my favorite Thai food Pad Thai. Isn't that sweet of him.

So I chose this scripture sentiment from the set to use and built my card around it. Since it dealt with a gift. I made my card look like a gift. Simple simple, which is also great since I am sick. I could get it done quickly. Yay. Bonus. I embossed my DP with Swiss Dots, can't see well in pic. I just love this scripture and love how this card turned out.

Thank you for visiting me.
